NATURAL ECONOMICS

NATURAL ECONOMICS DEFINED

As far as I know, I am the only person, at least in recent history, who has applied the term Natural Economics to the pursuit of an understanding of Economics.

I did not “invent” or “create” Natural Economics.  If I had done so then it would not be Natural. It would be a human creation.  I have simply chosen this particular combination of words to describe the principles that I think govern all economic activity.  If I created anything it is an innovative way to approach an education about economics.

Understanding the full impact of these ideas will give you a very powerful set of tools to use in all of your economic pursuits.

Natural Economics is based upon two extremely important concepts or ideas.

The first is that everything we can control and, in fact, the only thing we have control over is human behavior.  We have no control over natural phenomena; we can only react to them.  If we learn to “harness” nature we can only accomplish this through human behavior.

The second critical concept is realizing that every human action has an economic consequence.  Yes, some people have more influence and can create larger impacts, but the principles that govern their behavior are the same as those that govern yours.

These ideas lead to certain Laws of Natural Economics that are easy to understand and help us to make more effective decisions.

Effective decisions can be “good” or “bad”.  That is a value judgment which is a different issue altogether.
